I have worked on two major web development projects (PHP, mySQL, XTHML, JS, CSS) since I started my metamorphosis into a design dude. Although I was a few years past my C/C++ years, I enjoyed working on these projects.
I work closely with the Development team in my current role at AOL. Though I don't often code myself, I leverage my understanding for web technologies in my designs.

Grassroots is an asset based mapping tool for communities. It was born out of a local need vocalized by community members to make compelling visual arguments, such as asset maps, to promote community change.
Using Grassroots, users can :
- Create maps showing important features of their community
- Save and share the maps they create with others
- Create new, specialized maps by starting with any map that is already shared
- Find maps by searching by geographic region, by users and groups, or by tags that identify maps' purpose, features, etc.
The program uses Google Maps API to create asset maps. I used PHP for the server side scripting and MySQL as the database.
